For us here in Australia the 1st of September is the beginning of Spring and as today is the 23rd I can’t believe one month of it is almost over, we are nearly 1/3 the way through the season.
So as the days grow longer and I rise with the sun, one of my failings I can never sleep in, I get an extra load of washing or two out to dry in the day. Half my window curtains have been washed, I’m starting on my venetian blinds, which is a job I hate.
I’m one of those annoying people who shift furniture from room to room, variety is the spice of life and it’s cheaper than buying new stuff. My family is used to coming home in the afternoon and furniture not where it was and things mixed and matched from other rooms and pulled from cupboards.
I’m also going through my wardrobe and packing away my winter clothes and finding my shorts and tank tops again.
My other job is to go through the bathroom and medication cupboard to check dates and see what’s what, allergy tablets for hay fever being our biggest expense.
I love spring it’s that happy medium in weather that’s not too hot and not too cold, if only I could get it to only rain between 10pm and 4am all would be well 🙂
Grevillea ‘Honey Gem’ is a grevillea cultivar originating from Queensland in Australia (we have christmas lights in this tree in December).
Rainbow lorikeets love these flowers and are out and about early morning to breakfast in our front yard.
