Bed pillow replacements

I generally replace our pillows every 5yrs my easy way to remember is the years that end with 5 or 0 we need new pillows, easy. I love the latex pillows as I love a firm pillow, big fibre fill pillows make me feel like I’m suffocating when I lie down. Each to their own.

I’ve since learned that it depends on your type of pillow and that it should probably be replaced every 18-24 months  or stretching it to 3, so I’m guessing now my year reminders should 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0.

How often do you replace your pillows?

A good quality latex pillow that has a protector on it shouldn’t need to be replaced for quite a long time. We replace ours when they start to feel not right. In my husband’s case, all the time. He is yet to find the one.

  1. Maybe the information I read was for fibre fill pillows and not all pillows in general which is good as the latex ones are expensive. Yes I have the quilted pillow protectors which always get washed especially in in the summer heat. My pillows go on top of the clothes line regularly to air.
I know that feather pillows like feather doonas/duvet should be replaced often as feathers are a natural fibre and break down much quicker.
Hope your hubby finds his almost forever pillow soon 🙂
