Chocolate cake sandwich with butter cream

This chocolate cake sandwich and butter cream was a recipe I found on the net titled ‘oven baked donuts’ believe it or not and if anyone tries this as oven baked donuts please let me know how they turn out.

I thought it was too much of a cake recipe to make donuts but had an inkling it would possibly go well as cake sandwiches due the not much rising agent in the mix.

It worked well and we had this for dessert the other night. It is really easy and the cook time is so quick you can whip it up in no time.

Ice cream patties:

Half melt vanilla ice cream and spread into a tray about 1cm thick, cover with cling wrap on the top and freeze again.

Cut circles with a biscuit or scone cutter and place between 2 cakes just before serving. Enjoy.
