… and if you keep personal items in your car do you leave them in all year round?
Over here in Australia we have 6 states and 2 territories, 3 of our states and 1 territory get snow but the rest of us are pretty hot states averaging anywhere between 36°C to 50°C in Summer, throw in humidity or hot dry winds and it gets pretty warm.
Our cars have air con and heating as that’s what they come with, so while we are driving the air con is blasting but when we park our car and more often than not there is no shade, the car can get pretty darn hot in no time flat. How hot you ask, so hot that your seat belt buckle burns through your clothes at your hip, your steering wheel is too hot to touch, gear stick to hot to put into gear and of course your glasses fog up. You sort of get used to it. Poor bubs in car seats and capsules.
So going back to what personal items do you keep in your car, during winter I leave hand cream, lip balms, tic tacs, even chewing gum on occasion. As Spring to Summer heats up all those items come out of the car, I can tell you a melted chap stick/lip balm is no easy thing to clean out of a door pocket or console. The gum is a melted blob before it even hits your mouth and other items get heat affected. Needless to say my car was cleaned out about a month ago, in Spring, so this very thing won’t happen this year.
Water is a constant every time I get in the car, I NEVER go anywhere without it even in winter. I have a couple of 750ml insulated bottles that stay in the fridge to fill up with water when I go out, even if it’s just down the street to shop.
Yay Summer! It’s already a hot one with some outback places already almost hitting the 50°C mark and Summer has just hit. I’m lucky I get some bay breezes.
Stay warm if you’re in Winter and stay cool if you’re in Summer.

We usually have a couple of bottles of water in our glove box( our last car the air con had agent in the glove box). In the console we keep a hand wind emergency light. A fold up shopping bag because it got left there and some Panadol and gaviscon tablets and our gym swipe card. That’s all.
Sunglasses, hand sanitiser, tissues, wet ones, umbrella, panadol, hat
