House maintenance

Painting a wall how hard could it be? The painting itself is not so hard cutting in, undercoating, 2 coats of paint. The sanding, the putty filling of 24 years of dents with rough and tumble boys, the again sanding, wall washing, taking off switch plates and masking up of skirting boards. Living here has taken their toll on my poor walls.

I’ve  decided I’m not giving up my day job to take up house painting. Will I do more walls probably yes, but I don’t know about ceilings, quite frankly they scare me. If I do more it could take a while … a long while.

Has anyone else painted their house and did you enjoy doing it?

Painted a few homes in my time, but I’ve never personally painted a wall or ceiling. I’ve done the cutting in, skirts etc, but hubby has always done the walls & ceilings. It’s a very time consuming job, but you can save a truckload of money by not paying for a painter.
