A recipe revisited…
A friend and I were talking about the coconut cherry slice recipe the other day and the sugar content. I’d said I tried to cut the sugar down but the slice was very anaemic looking, not very appealing at all.
This got me to thinking, if it’s only a colour thing, what gives colour, HONEY! So I halved the sugar and put in 2 table spoons of honey, and voila, a lovely golden coloured slice and half the sugar. I can smell the honey but I can’t taste the honey. I didn’t have cherries today but I had chocolate chips so this became a choc chip slice.
So I’ve put this Coconut choc chip slice into the recipe file now as a different recipe from the other but they are interchangeable, mix and match to your hearts content.
