Christmas donation collection starting

It’s time to make and get ready to send Christmas cards, yep Christmas in July for December.

Since 2010 I’ve made birthday, mothers day, fathers day and Christmas cards to be sent to our overseas military to send back home for these occasions. My cards are much better travelled than I am for sure.

The tricky part is to make a nice festive card that in many respects is cheap.  It’s also hard to find Christmas stuff in July. And for us in Australia Christmas is in summer. I also have to pay for postage to Canberra so I try to keep it light.  Paper + envelopes is surprisingly heavy.

The card group I make them for, who collates and packs them off, has put out the call that cards need to be to them by the end of  August.  In the last week I’ve made 50 cards with my eye on making another 50 before sending off in a couple of weeks.

I’m sure the troops really appreciate your hard work. They are always nice looking cards. We can also feel safe in the fact that while you are doing this project, no one is going to get choked to death. LOL

  1. I made another 30 cards, total 80 and posted them off, so I only have my own personal Christmas cards to make now.
